Some years ago, I captured a series of artistic portraits of my stepson when he was 12 years old. These images were not conventional portraits but carry a subtle twist—something just beyond the ordinary. Inspired by the evocative works of Sally Mann, Jock Sturges, David Hamilton, and other visionary artists who explore the intersection of intimacy and beauty, these pieces delve into the essence of human experience through a lens of quiet contemplation and emotional resonance. Each frame holds a quiet narrative, a fleeting moment of childhood suspended in time, where curiosity and introspection meet.

We created truly exceptional works of art, where nudity was an integral part of the theme, exploring light, form, and emotion in a way that feels both intimate and timeless. Unfortunately, in today’s overly prudish society, it is neither possible to exhibit nor offer these works for sale. The artistic value and intention behind them are overshadowed by narrow-minded perceptions, making it impossible to share these pieces as they were meant to be seen. These are the only works left that can be shown.

The pressure of modern society to conform to rigid moral codes has become a cage, stifling creativity and reducing art to a tool of judgment rather than a mirror of human truth. In an era where every glance is scrutinized and every bare limb is met with suspicion, the courage to capture the raw, unfiltered essence of childhood is dismissed as indecent. The fear of scandal, the hunger for censorship, and the relentless pursuit of propriety have turned these images into relics, trapped in a cycle of conformity. Artists who dare to explore the beauty of the human form—its vulnerability, its innocence, its fleeting grace—are now forced to hide their vision, their work reduced to a footnote in a culture obsessed with control. The result is not just a loss of art, but a loss of connection to the very soul of what it means to be human. These pieces, born from a place of quiet wonder, are now relics of a time when art could breathe, and the body could speak without apology.
